Nathaniel was baptised at Talland 1st January 1772.
He was a Riding Officer for H.M. Customs between Looe and Fowey in 1798 but was dismissed from the Service in 1801 under suspicion of being in collusion with smugglers. He then became a carpenter working for the Royal Navy at Plymouth until his death.
He never married. In his Will, dated 10 June 1815, he bequeathed his property to his brother Samuel (1775-1832) and made no mention of his other brother Parkins.
