Ancestry records – show that Annie was widowed in 1913, and then moved permanently to Polperro.
The Romanis family originally had a house at Talland, Talland Sands Cottage, which fell into the sea, destroyed by coastal erosion, Annie Romanis had Dinas Bal built on the Warren around 1910.
They had two sons: Hugo – Dr. W.H.C. Romanis – who became a world famous surgeon, author of surgical textbooks, and Donald – Capt. D.G. Romanis M.C – receiving the Military Cross. Headstone 238
