- “Through life she shone, superior in the characters of Christian, wife, parent, and friend. In the course of protracted and afflicting illness she ever showed that patient resignation which Christianity alone can inspire. To hear testimony to the comforts and consolations which result from the genuine practice of pure religion: to preserve a memorial of her many virtues, to mark to her friends the sacred spot which claims the tribute of respect and to perform the last act of filial piety”

Inside Talland church, Ledger Stone 31 records the sons of Jane Rundle – Thomas Prynn Rundle & John Rundle, who both died as young boys. Jane married Edward Rundle (1750-1821) on 14 November 1772 in her parish, St. Newlyn East. Edward’s gravestone is by the south door of the church, Headstone 159
Baptism records show that Edward & Jane Rundle had several children, their last being Jane Prynn Rundle (1792-1812).
She married Dr. Johnathan Couch (1789-1870) of Polperro, Surgeon & Naturalist, in 1810, as his first wife; she died shortly after the birth of their first child, aged 20.
