“Caroline Rowett, daughter of John Quiller and Caroline Rowett, was born in Rangoon, Burma on 23 September, 1869, but lived much of her life with her mother near London before moving to The Cottage (now Dolphin House) onTalland Hill in Polperro in 1926 when she inherited the house from her aunt, Hannah Hill Hitchens Rowett (1850-1928). She lived there until 1940 when she sold the house and moved into Looe where she stayed at the Tregertha Hotel until her death in 1942.”
