Ann Hocken (1805-1871), the daughter of local farmer John and Jane Hocken, married Thomas Braddon [1805-1873]on 20th November 1827 at Stoke Damerel, Devon.

Ann Braddon was buried at Talland, aged 65, on 15th October 1871, to be joined there by Thomas, who had died on 18th December 1873.
