Will of Phillip Littleton of Talland, Polperro, dated 1836. AP/L/2353 Kresen Kernow. This Will describes the ownership of a Pilchard Sean – a type of fishing net hung vertically in the water with weights at the bottom and floats at the top. These have been described as 220 fathoms long and 15 fathoms deep, used with a tuck-net and helped by other boats, the catch is many thousands of fish.
