~ Slate ~ Versal style decorative capital letters and large fine hand incised script. The small slab is broken in half, diagonally across the middle and positioned in front of the chancel steps.

Thomas buried yearês threescore and odd

And Joane buried ye like, in the feare of God.

A ‘Joan Mellowe’, widow of Talland, leaves a Will dated 1621-1622. Ref: AP/M/347 Kresen Kernow – described as ‘will and inventory, listing household items, weapons and armour’.
