Parish records show parents of Robert & William Reath, Robert Reath (1787-1864) and Elizabeth Husband (1785-1784) married at Talland church on 24 March 1810 and lived in West Looe. The 1830 Pigot Directory shows Robert Reath as publican of The Jolly Sailor, as do the censers in 1841 & 1851 & 1856 Post Office Directory of Cornwall. They had several children including Alice Reath (1817-1880), who married Benjamin Skentelbury (1809-1852) on 26 December 1836 at Talland church. Their first son Benjamin Skentelbery is named on this stone.
