Motifs of death are incised: the winged angel, doves in flight, and a hand reaches heavenwards; 
finger pointing to hour glass and figure blowing an arrow through a heart.

Who Departed this Life ye 9 Day of March
In ye year 1779  Aged 22 years

WHY do we mourn departing Friends
Or ƒhake at Death’s Alarms?
Tis but the Voice that Jeƒus ƒends
To call us to his Arms
Afflictions fore Long time I’ve Bore
Phyƒicians where in vain
Till god was Please Death Should me Seise
And Ease me of my pain.
