width across arms 2ft 6in [76cm]; width of shaft 11in [28cm]; thickness 8in [20cm].
The largest incised Latin cross, at present, discovered in Cornwall.

Old Cornish Crosses – Arthur G. Langdon, 1896.

Wayside Christian crosses were erected during the medieval period, mostly from the 9th to 15th centuries AD;

the Latin cross shown as a simple slab, with a low relief cross on both faces, is rare.

The stone is scheduled under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979, for its national importance.
